Privacy

Sordina changes how loud your apps are. It doesn't need to know anything about you to do that, so it collects very little.

In short: your audio never leaves your Mac and is never saved. The app has no analytics or tracking and no account. It talks to the internet for two things only: checking for updates, and checking a Sordina Pro licence. The website keeps your email if you join the launch list, and counts visits without cookies.

The app

Your audio

macOS asks for System Audio Recording permission because Sordina passes an app's sound through itself to change its level. That happens live, on your Mac. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere. Sordina also notices when an app uses the microphone, to turn other apps down during calls, but it never listens to the microphone.

Update checks

Once a day Sordina asks updates.sordina.app whether there's a new version. The request carries the app's version, like any download, and nothing about you. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings › Account.

Sordina Pro licences

When you enter a licence key, Sordina sends it to Lemon Squeezy, who sell Sordina Pro, along with your Mac's name, so you can tell your Macs apart in your order. After that, it checks the key about once a day. The key is kept in your Mac's keychain. Sordina never puts it in logs or support emails.

Settings

Your volumes, pins and other settings stay on your Mac.

Support emails

Help & Feedback opens an email in your own mail app, with Sordina's version, the macOS version and your Mac's model at the bottom so problems are easier to fix. You see it all before you send it. We keep emails only to answer them.

Buying Sordina Pro

Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record: they take the payment, handle tax and send your receipt and key, so they hold your name, email, billing address and payment details under their privacy policy. We see your name, email and order, and nothing about your card.

The website

Launch list. If you leave your email, we keep it and the time you signed up, and use it once, to tell you Sordina is out. It's never shared or sold. Ask and we'll delete it.
Visits. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without following you across sites.
Hosting. The site, updates and email run on Cloudflare, which handles requests (including IP addresses) to deliver them and keep the site safe.
